District Staff Working to better understand the Interaction Between Surface Water and Groundwater

Staff members of Post Oak Savannah met virtually on Tuesday, April 18, with staff from the Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) along with POSGCD Hydrologist Steve Young of Intera to discuss coordination of efforts on behalf of both entities to study interactions between surface water and groundwater. Pictured at the table are Gary Westbrook, General manager, Greg Perry, Water Resource Specialist and Kelli Timmerman Office Manager. Understanding the interaction between surface water and groundwater will help predict future conditions and water availability, especially in times of climate change. This effort will specifically explore the interaction between surface water and groundwater in the Brazos Alluvial aquifer and the Brazos River.
