The District is working with Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) to provide this session that will provide guidance on updating Drought Contingency Plans and Emergency Preparedness Plans, a new requirement for utilities statewide. Attendees may also be eligible to receive an hour of Continuing Education Units (CEU). The training will cover updates to state requirements for drought contingency planning and how to update plans, steps for developing and implementing emergency preparedness plans, resources and best practices for working with local utilities TCEQ. While smaller utilities are not required to submit these plans to TCEQ, they are still required to have them if audited. This training offers an opportunity to make sure plans are up to date and ready. Participation will also count toward priority points in POSGCD’s Local Utilities Grant and Groundwater Conservation Grant Program. Lunch will be provided. This event is free to attend, but the District requests RSVPs for a lunch headcount.
